It was during the Mahinda Rajapaksa era that people’s representatives raised their hands to create all the ordinances that affected the destruction of Sri Lanka. The corruption and fraud created in that era must be put to an end. President Ranil Wickremesinghe announced today (9) that he will take steps to bring a bill to combat corruption, presenting the government’s policy statement in the fourth session of the 9th Parliament.
The President said that he will work with the World Bank and the United Nations to insert provisions related to the recovery of stolen assets into the Act. The International Monetary Fund can obtain information about the world’s currencies.
He mentioned that bringing such a bill is a condition of the International Monetary Fund.
“Another step is taken as soon as the patient recovers. Eliminating all possibilities of another such crisis. For this purpose, we are bringing an anti-corruption bill. Together with the World Bank and the United Nations, we are taking steps to include efforts to recover stolen assets in this bill. It is a condition of the International Monetary Fund.”
He further stated,
“If you endure this difficulty for a short period of 5 to 6 months, you can reach a solution. If we continue like this, we will be able to give more stipend to government employees in the third and fourth quarters of the year. Concessions can be given to private sector employees. The hands of the people of the country can be made more fertile than today. Employment can increase income streams. Bank interest can be reduced. In another 3 years, the people of the country can get more than 75% more income than what they are getting today. as
