It is reported that three suspects who aided and abetted the killing of five people in Beliatte have been arrested.
Two suspects were arrested by the officers of the Hungama Police Station, and on the same day, the officers of the Matara Division Criminal Investigation Division arrested one more suspect in Matara.
Residents of Negombo, Alavwa and Bussa, aged 28, 42, and 58, have been arrested.
They have been arrested for disposing of the T-56 firearms used to kill these suspects and for making money transactions during the commission of crimes.
Further investigations are being carried out by the Beliaatta Police and it is said that two women were also arrested for the crime of transporting firearms for the related murders.
