It is reported that the case of Mr. Roshan Ranasinghe, who has been arrested and remanded on the charge of making statements insulting Buddhism under the name of “Vishwa Buddha”, was called again at the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court today (29).
The President’s lawyer, who appeared in the court on behalf of the Sri Lankan Ramanya sect, requested that the suspect’s subsampa has now been revoked, so that he should no longer be considered as an heir.
In relation to this case, the Colombo Chief Magistrate did not cancel the suspect’s bail and he has been remanded until February 02 in relation to the case in the Nugegoda Magistrate’s Court.
