It is reported that a flood warning has been issued to the people in the low-lying areas of Nilwala Ganga Doniya.
Accordingly, the Irrigation Department stated that this situation has occurred due to the heavy rainfall that fell in the upper and middle reaches of the Nilwala river basin.
Therefore, it is reported that the Irrigation Department is informing the people living in the lowlands belonging to the Nilwala River outlet in the areas of Pasgoda, Kotapola, Pitabeddara, Akurassa, Athuraliya, Malimbada, Tihagoda, Matara and Devinuwara to be very vigilant.
