The Federation of Health Professionals says that they will go on a continuous island wide strike from 7 am today (07) based on 07 demands including salary anomalies.
The conference will be attended by nurses, medical laboratory scientists, pharmacists and public health inspectors, said Saman Ratnapriya.
Conversion of Health Professional Services into Closed Services, Special Duty Allowance Rs. 10,000 / -, elimination of parallel pay anomalies due to elimination of teacher salary anomalies alone, establishment of a “Health Administration Service” representing all health professionals, and delays in resolving issues arising out of health professionals. Health workers have decided to go on a continuous island-wide strike.
However, the Federation of Health Professionals said that the strike would not take place at cancer, maternity and pediatric hospitals, hospitals for treatment of kidney diseases and the Central Blood Bank.
