State Minister of Indigenous Medicine Promotion, Rural and Ayurvedic Hospitals Development and Community Health Sisira Jayakody stated in Parliament today (30) that he hopes to present the necessary legislation for the export of cannabis to Parliament for approval soon.
He also stated that such approval is obtained only for exports.
He also said that traditional medicine is being legalized and that cannabis has the potential to cure cancer.
Through this, steps will be taken to produce the raw material required for the production of local medicines in the country and it is planned to obtain foreign exchange through the indigenous medical system, the Minister further said.
