Today (04) Member of Parliament Nalin Bandara tabled a letter addressed to Defense Secretary Mr. Kamal Gunaratne warning the security forces that there may be a bomb attack in the North East or South on one of the 6th or 7th of July.
In this letter, which is said to have been issued on the 27th of last month, it is said that the foreigners staying in the north have been informed not to participate in the ceremonies.
Mr. Ki Bandara also requested the Deputy Speaker to look into the matter immediately, saying that the letter also pointed out that there is a risk of an attack on the homes of the politicians.
Responding to it, Janatha Vimukti Peramuna leader Member of Parliament Anura Kumara Dissanayake stated that if there is a possibility of such an attack, the government was requested to disclose how the information was received.
He also mentioned that it is suspected that it is a conspiracy to suppress the anti-government protests and sentiments that are currently going on across the country.
However, if such an attack takes place, he will be held responsible as the Defense Secretary. Also, if he knows about it, he will have to take measures to prevent it and if not, even if he survived the Easter attack, he will not be able to survive now. The Defense Secretary and the three military commanders will have to prevent the attack as it has been detected and Hansarded in Parliament before it happened.
