Hemantha Samarasekara, the Assistant Director of the Ridiyagama Zoo, said that the baby lion named ‘Dora’, which was born at the Ridiyagama Zoo recently, will be on public display from today (18).
Dora the Lion Cub, born on 26.07.2021, is now about seven and a half months old.
Although Dora was put on public display, officials worked to keep Dora isolated until she was fit enough to join a herd.
Dora is the first lion cub to be bred by a lioness named Lara at the Ridiyagama Safari Park.
At present there are 15 lions in the Ridiyagama Safari Park and 08 of them are lion cubs born in the same park.
