Parents who infuse tea to their child for a month. (With video. Share and help).
Our group went to Embilipitiya in the Ratnapura District of Sri Lanka to find a mother and father who would give tea to a disabled child for a month due to lack of money.
This family lives in the village of Panamura in the Embilipitiya Divisional Secretariat, in the village of Muladiyawala in the Muladiyawala Grama Sevaka Division. The villagers say that this mother and father are suffering immensely to support their two disabled children for 16 years and another 13 years. One child has died so far. These babies, who are not born with a disability, become disabled after about two years.
This father is a retired soldier. They say the monthly pension is around 30,000 rupees. But they say they have to pay Rs. 28,000 a month for bank loans taken to cure children. The villagers say that the father is now working as a laborer but his mental condition is not good. You can clearly see in the videos the pain and grief of not only the father but also the mother. But the children are not well either. For the sake of these children, all the parental expenditure is in vain.
Due to the heavy rain the day before our team left, this house was also submerged in the great body of water that came along the road. It seems that the water in the road drains from the inside of this land and house every rainy season. There seems to be water inside the house as well and water seeps all over the walls. The baby has to sleep in a very small wooden bed. This baby takes tea for a month to satisfy his hunger. That is because of the miserable condition of these parents. There is no light or mental happiness in their lives. Now these parents have another baby. They fear that this child will suffer the same fate as the two older children.
Listen to this story. We also submit a proposal to the government. To build a separate hospital for such children. Then such children can be maintained very well at the expense of the government and with the help of capitalists. Read this story and share it with others to help these parents and children.
