Several senior police officers in the Western Province have been abusing the law for several days to fulfill their dream of becoming the Inspector General of Police by fulfilling several political aspirations. Yesterday’s the worst damage in decades, as a result of mass violence caused by their disobedience. It still exists today. But today there are not as many big incidents as yesterday.
It is reported that Deshabandu Tennakoon had made a false statement to the IGP while the SSP in charge of the Colombo Central area as well as the IGP had taken control of the incident prior to the incident yesterday.
It is reported that even the name of MP Sanath Nishantha had been read at the time of the incident and it is reported that Mr. Tennakoon had promised the IGP that he would accept any wrongdoing.
Senior DIG Deshabandu Tennakoon was assaulted by a group at Nawam Mawatha in Colombo this afternoon. It is reported that he is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
