The funeral ceremony for the late Queen Elizabeth II is scheduled to be held today (19).
At the same time, by 06.30 this morning, the opportunity for the people to pay their last respects to the Queen’s body, which is currently buried in Westminster Hall, will end.
After that, the funeral procession carrying the Queen’s body is scheduled to leave for Westminster Church at 10.44 am local time and the royals are also going to walk with the body, foreign media reported.
The service is scheduled to begin at 11.00 am local time at Westminster Cathedral.
The Queen’s remains will then be taken to Wellington Arch and will depart for St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, where the funeral service will be held at 3.00pm local time.
The last service is scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM local time or 9:00 PM Sri Lankan time.
Foreign media reports stated that after the last service, the remains of Queen Elizabeth II will be buried in the Royal Tombs in St. George’s Chapel in the grounds of Windsor Castle in London.
It is also said that the royal tombs are opened after 20 years.
The remains of the Queen’s father, King George VI, and the Queen Mother are also buried in the same royal tomb, and the remains of Queen Elizabeth are also to be buried next to it.
It is also reported that the body of Prince Philip, who has been safely buried until the Queen’s passing, will be buried with the body of Queen Elizabeth II.
