The Ministry of Energy stated that the resumption of operations at the Sapugaskanda Oil Refinery will be further postponed.
Secretary to the Ministry of Energy KDR Volga stated that the work will commence on the 30th.
Earlier it was decided to commence operations at the Sapugaskanda Oil Refinery on the 27th i.e. tomorrow but due to the delay of the crude oil tanker the refinery operations have been postponed until today.
The ship was scheduled to reach Sri Lanka on the 24th of this month for a Singaporean company that has entered into an agreement to continue supplying crude oil to Sri Lanka.
The ship is scheduled to reach the Port of Colombo today (26), the Ministry of Energy said.
The Ministry of Energy states that all the requirements including opening of letters of credit and exchange payments have been successfully completed by now.
