Dr. Upul Dissanayake, Physiotherapist at the Colombo National Hospital stated that there is a tsunami wave in the country at present.
The doctor further stated that Covid infections are not the only ones that have been hospitalized due to covid.
Specialist Dr. Upul Dissanayake has pointed out that most of the patients who are admitted to the hospital are those who have not been vaccinated and the symptoms are very rare in the vaccinated patients.
Covid has been diagnosed with two infections, but has not been reported to have been infected three or four times so far, he added.
He was addressing a media briefing at the Health Promotion Bureau today (28).
Joining the media briefing, Deputy Director General of Health Services, Specialist Dr. Hemantha Herath said that there are a large number of people in the society who do not show any symptoms due to this condition and therefore it is not possible to say with certainty whether the disease has spread or not.
