According to Steve Hank, a renowned economist at Johns Hopkins University, Sri Lanka is one of the fastest growing countries in the world.
According to his latest rankings, Sri Lanka is currently ranked 6th in the world in terms of inflation.
Accordingly, the inflation rate in the country is 55%.
He pointed out on his Twitter account that in order to overcome this situation, Sri Lanka should move towards a Monetary Board financial management system. According to the rankings, Venezuela has the highest inflation in the world. Zimbabwe, Lebanon, Turkey and Sudan are the other countries ahead of Sri Lanka.
