The All Party Conference convened to discuss the current economic crisis in Sri Lanka is being held under the patronage of the President today.
It is reported that 07 political parties have confirmed their participation. Among them are the United National Party and the Tamil National Alliance as well as the Sri Lanka Freedom Party which submitted the resolution.
However, six parties in parliament have decided not to attend.
However, the need for the government and the opposition to work together is paramount, as all divisions must be eliminated if the country is to move forward. It is important to let go of all rivalries and find answers to the questions that everyone has in common.
Opposition forces must realize that the people will suffer further if they do not receive the necessary support for the President’s efforts.
