The last rites of the late Buddhangala Ananda Thero will be performed on the 31st of this month.
His body was laid to rest at the Buddhist Congress on Bauddhaloka Mawatha this morning (29).
It is said that Ananda Weerasekera, the brother of the late Minister Sarath Weerasekera, has also served as a Major General in the Army.
His body will be flown to Ammara tomorrow (30) and will be laid to rest at the Buddhangala Forest Hermitage from 4.30 pm onwards.
Arrangements have been made to hold the cremation ceremony of Ven. Buddhangala Thero on the 31st at 3.00 pm at the Buddhangala Forest Convent.
