IIt was the morning of February 08-08, 2022. I was admitted to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital to see my sick aunt.
The three forces are the security fence of our country. There are strong and valiant war heroes.But no matter how strong the minds of those heroes were, it was clear from this vision that they were human beings just like us.
Upon learning that his mother was in the hospital alone, the only son of the sailor’s son rushed to the hospital to see his beloved mother. Was shocked.
At that moment he was dressed in a Navy uniform but realizing that it was only her son, he immediately hugged his mother and cried like a small child. This scene touched the hearts of all of us who were there.
Many patients have been left helpless in the wake of the health strike that began on the 7th, including the mother.
She is helpless to eat or be able to eat.She is fed only a variety of liquid foods, which are also passed through a tube inserted into her nose.
Only the nurses can provide food through the tube and the mother is starving in the face of the strike by the officers in a background where no one else knows the method.
She once asked, “My stomach is burning. Give me some milk,” but there was no nurse to give it to her.
This situation also shook the heart of her soldier son even more. A subsequent search revealed that she had not received any food during the day.
Her son took a yoghurt and tried to fill his mother’s stomach with it, but to no avail.
Thousands of such patients are helpless in hospitals in this country. It will also shock their loved ones.The demands of health officials may be justified, but it is important to keep in mind that it is not just politicians or powerful people who are helpless.
