Unduvap Pun Poya Day is the last Poya day of the year and is a very important day for all of us Buddhists.
The Venerable Sangamitta Maha Rahath took the southern branch of the Sri Maha Bodhi to Sri Lanka on this auspicious Poya day.
It is also noteworthy that the Meheni Sasana was established in Lakchiwa on this auspicious day.
Also, the Sri Pada pilgrimage season begins with the full moon day of Unduwap and a procession of chariots carrying jewels and relics commenced yesterday (17).
On this auspicious Unduvap Poya Day, our wish is to have the good fortune to bear in mind the teachings of the Mother Buddha, to support the Dhamma itself and to build a life born of the Dhamma!
Bless the Triple Gem!
