Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the North, North Central, Eastern and Uva provinces and in the Matale and Hambantota districts, the Met Department said. Elsewhere, showers or thundershowers will occur at several places during the evening or night. In the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central Provinces and in some places in the Galle and Matara Districts. Heavy showers over 50 are also possible.
The Meteorological Department also warns the public to take necessary measures to reduce the risk of temporary strong winds and thunderstorms.
