Chinese research vessel Yuan Wang-5 docked at Hambantota port.
This ship, which caused controversy between India and China, has arrived at the port on the permission given by the Ministry of External Affairs.
In the past, India had expressed strong displeasure saying that this ship was a spy ship.
However, it is said that they have reached the island today after getting the official permission from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This ship has arrived at the port for provision of basic facilities including food and fuel facilities and it is scheduled to be anchored at Hambantota port until the next day.
