According to the idea of the Minister of Trade, Commerce and Food Security Mr. Nalin Fernando, it is reported that a project has been started to distribute 100,000 chickens throughout the country as a long-term solution to the egg-related problem that Sri Lanka is facing.
It is stated that this project has been started in Gampaha District and the inauguration ceremony was held at Gampaha District Secretariat.
Here, 2,300 chicks have been distributed to small and medium scale egg producers and the Minister of Trade has stated that the benefits of this project will reach the entire consumer population in the next four months.
