It is reported that twelve people, including four minors, have gone missing from several parts of the island in the past two days.
Accordingly, a 15-year-old student residing in Boralasgamuwa Werahera area, a 16-year-old student residing in Nadakuduiruppu Dharmapuram area, a 16-year-old resident of Hatton Polpitiya area and a 15-year-old girl detained in a Yathiana Development Center have gone missing.
The missing girl was detained in this detention center a few days ago and the chief warden has complained to the Katunayake police that she escaped on the night of the 10th.
The missing persons include an 18-year-old girl from Nuwara Eliya, a 26-year-old woman from Pothuvil and a 24-year-old man from Ederamulla.
It is also reported that an 82-year-old woman residing in Norwood, a 75-year-old man residing in Moratuwa, a 70-year-old worker residing in Pallama area, and a 65-year-old male resident in Kahathuduwa area are also included.
