Foreign media have reported that 18 bandits have lost their lives in a shootout between police and bandits in South Africa’s ‘Limpopo’ state.
It is said that these robbers were ready to rob a truck with money and this exchange of fire took place when the police tried to suppress it.
One police officer was seriously injured in the shootout that lasted for about 90 minutes, and the police and the country’s intelligence agencies have been on the lookout for the suspects for many days, and the shootout started as soon as the police went to the suspect’s location. Foreign media have reported more.
National Police Commissioner Fanny Masemola has stated that 16 men and two women died on the spot in the shootout and it is suspected that these robbers are also responsible for the robberies that happened in other places in the country.
