It is reported that two people who tried to sell a golden Buddha statue, which is considered to be of ancient value, for 13,000,000 rupees, have been arrested in the old Halmillaya area of Pune.
It is said that the police special task force officers have also taken the golden Buddha statue which they tried to sell along with the two suspects.
The two suspects were arrested along with the Buddha statue in a joint raid conducted by a team of officers from the Mullaitivu camp of the Police Special Task Force and a team of officers from the Punewa Police.
A person working as a manager of a petrol filling station in Vavuniya area and a resident of Pavakkulam area of Vavuniya have been arrested on suspicion.
