It is reported that Mr. Jeevan Thondaman, Minister of Water Supply and Estate Infrastructure Development, who accompanied the President on his visit to India, said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided to provide an amount of 3,000 million rupees for the plantation people of Indian origin living in Sri Lanka.
Accordingly, the minister has mentioned that steps will be taken to use the money for the development of the education and health sector in the mountains.
