A World Bank report revealed that about 40% of Pakistan’s population lives below the poverty line.
The report points out that the policies taken should be reviewed based on the interests of military, political and business leaders.
The World Bank has also emphasized on the country’s tax policies that need to be changed and it is reported that the poverty rate in Pakistan has increased to 39.4% by the last financial year.
Accordingly, it is reported that 95 million of Pakistan’s 231 million people live in poverty.
