A large-scale racket of registration of many luxury vehicles with a value of over 400 crore rupees has been uncovered in this country and an officer of the Archives of the Motor Transport Commissioner’s Department and another person who led this racket were arrested yesterday (10) by the Panadura Walana Central Corruption Squad ) is reported to have been arrested.
During an investigation regarding the registration of a luxury car, information about this smuggling was revealed and a luxury car registered in a false manner was also found in the possession of the officer of the Motor Transport Commissioner Department who was arrested.
According to reports, information has been revealed regarding a group involved in this smuggling and further investigations are being carried out to arrest them.
