It is reported that 5 people have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping of a Sri Langama bus driver who was traveling in a bus in Gampola.
Hemantha Rajapakse, who was traveling in the Sri Langama bus in the early hours of last 24th, was attacked by a group of people and abducted from a van. There they asked him about a sword of ancient value. Then he was taken to the Orugudawatta area of Colombo and the relevant people had worked to recover the sword that he had sold from the person who bought it.
Then Hemantha Rajapakse, who was abducted, got away from his abductors and came to the Gampola Police and informed about the incident.
Accordingly, based on the information received from him, 5 suspects related to the incident came to Colombo with the van used for the kidnapping and the sword.
In this regard, Police Media Spokesman Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Nihal Talduwa said that the Archeology Department has been notified to investigate whether this sword is of ancient value.
