It is reported that the Central Environment Authority has said that the import of plastic brooms and brooms should be banned immediately.
They pointed this out in the Sectoral Committee on Environment, Natural Resources and Sustainable Development.
Gampaha District Member of Parliament, Engineer Ajith Mannapperuma, the chairman of the said committee, has mentioned that recommendations will be made in this regard.
