According to the report, an 11-year-old child who suffered from rabies died after being bitten by a pet dog in a house in Ratnapura, Delgamuwa, Kuruwita.
The puppy had bitten the child and the parents did not know about it. The child was admitted to the Ratnapura hospital due to difficulty in breathing, where the child died.
After this incident, it is stated that the veterinary officers have taken measures to give anti-rabies vaccine to the dogs roaming in the area.
