It is reported that the Colombo Fraud Investigation Bureau informed the court yesterday (29) that a comprehensive investigation has been started on the suspects who defrauded 48 members of the Sri Lanka Central Federation of the Deaf.
Also, the officials of the Colombo Fraud Investigation Bureau reported the matter to the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court and informed that the relevant investigation was conducted based on a complaint made by Mr. Anil Jayawardena, Secretary of the Hearing Impaired Association.
The police also informed the court that 48 members of the Central Federation of the Deaf of Sri Lanka had deposited an amount of one crore four hundred and thirty two thousand one hundred and fifteen rupees to a private company called Bicross Meta for the purpose of receiving dividends. that it has been done and that the investigation has been started based on the complaint received in that regard.
Accordingly, Colombo Additional Magistrate Manjula Ratnayake, who considered the facts presented, ordered the Colombo Fraud Investigation Bureau to report the progress of the investigations to the court.
