It is reported that the fundamental rights petition filed by Minister Harin Fernando requesting an order to prevent his arrest in relation to the investigations carried out regarding the Easter Sunday terror attack incident has been withdrawn.
Accordingly, the lawyer representing the minister has stated before the Supreme Court that the Attorney General has issued instructions to the police to complete the investigation against Minister Harin Fernando, whose statement was recorded regarding the Easter Sunday terror attack incident, so the relevant petition will be withdrawn.
The bench then allowed the withdrawal of the petition and decided to dismiss it.
This petition was called today (18) before the Court of Appeal bench consisting of Gamini Amarasekara, Mahinda Samayawardena and Arjuna Obeyasekara.
