A two-year-old girl who had attended an annual festival at Nallur Temple in Jaffna to beg with her family has reportedly gone missing.
The girl’s mother claims that the child was abducted by a beggar woman there.
In this regard, the Jaffna headquarters police state that the girl has been collecting money with her mother, grandmother and younger brother as beggars.
These people are residents of Vavuniya, Settikulam area and it is stated that the woman suspected to have been abducted is from Batticaloa.
When the girl’s mother went to collect the money, the suspect woman, who is said to be from Batticaloa, said that she was going to the shop and asked the girl from her grandmother and left.
