It is reported that the attention of the National Security Sectoral Supervisory Committee has been focused on preparing a salary system for the retired police veterans who were disabled during the war and promotions up to the age of 55.
The Parliamentary Communications Department has said that when the committee met under the chairmanship of MP Sarath Weerasekera, it had been discussed at length.
The representatives of the disabled police officers have made a request to the committee to give them the title related to the promotion that they would have received if they were in service, along with the corresponding salary.
Meanwhile, information has been revealed here that the stipend given based on the special duty and the risk involved by the officers working in the special units is also given to the officers who are not working in the special units.
It is stated that the Sectoral Monitoring Committee has given instructions to the officials to investigate and give a report within one month about the retired disabled officers who are given wrong allowances.
Also, the Parliamentary Communications Department has further said that the Chairman of the Committee instructed the Acting Inspector General of Police to open a separate window in the Police Hospital for the treatment of disabled police war heroes.
