It is reported that nine 7th grade students who enjoyed eating cake and smearing cake on their face during a function held at a school in Urapola area to celebrate Teacher’s Day were admitted to Vatupitiyala Base Hospital this afternoon (06) due to some kind of allergy.
On the occasion of Teacher’s Day, cake was brought to the school and served to the teachers, and then the children also ate the cake and then the students were having fun smearing each other’s face and body with the cake. It is said that the children were admitted to the hospital due to an allergy that occurred at that time.
So far, it has not been revealed whether the students got allergic because of eating the cake or because they were smearing the cake on their face for fun.
