Without prior notice, a group of trade union representatives from professionals including the Government Medical Officers’ Association, the Federation of University Doctors’ Associations, and the Engineers’ Association of the Electricity Board tried to enter the President’s Secretariat asking for a discussion, and it is reported that a heated situation broke out there.
Before they could go to the President’s Secretariat, the police and the army stopped the group by hand, and then an additional secretary came and discussed with them.
It is stated that the secretary said that he would give another date for discussion, but the group of trade union representatives rejected it and demanded a discussion on today (17).
Later, as they did not get that opportunity, the group dispersed and before they dispersed, they told the media that they would come again.
