It is reported that a piece of gauze weighing about 1 kg was found in the stomach of a mother after an operation at Mulattu Hospital.
It is stated that yesterday (27) her husband has requested the Director of Health Services of the Northern Province to conduct an immediate investigation in this regard.
The woman’s husband has stated that the woman in question was taken to the Mullaitivu hospital for delivery, and she underwent a caesarean section at the hospital.
And he has further stated that she was taken to the hospital 12 times due to this pain, and that an investigation should be conducted for the mental trauma and physical pain caused to him and his wife due to the negligence of the doctors, and the relevant doctors should be punished.
It is reported that three doctors have been appointed by the Northern Provincial Health Services Directorate to conduct an investigation in this regard.
