It is reported that today (20) the union of professionals submitted a memorandum to the Sri Lankan office of the International Monetary Fund requesting to revise the pay as you earn tax policy.
The trade unions unitedly stated that the relevant memorandum was handed over for the attention of the delegation that is visiting the island for the first review of the International Monetary Fund’s extended credit program in Sri Lanka.
They also stated that strict professional measures will be taken in the future if the relevant pay-as-you-go tax policies are not addressed in the IMF’s first review.
