It is reported that Mr. Kanchana Wijesekera, the Minister of Power and Energy, said that he discussed with Mr. Marc Andre Franche, the Resident Representative of the United Nations Organization in Sri Lanka, about the green financing facilities that Sri Lanka can take for renewable energy projects and the methods that can be adopted to balance the electricity bills of low-income families. .
A discussion between Mr. Marc Andre Franche and the Minister was held today (18) at the Ministry of Electricity.
The minister further mentioned that the government’s policies and plans for renewable energy, the model related to the restructuring program in the electricity sector and the support provided by development agencies to the restructuring program were discussed there.
