Anuradhapura, Mihintalea, it is reported that a woman lost her life in a fatal car accident that took place this afternoon (25) in the area between Matale junction and Pulyar junction on the A12 main road.
A 54-year-old mother of four named Dona Sujeeva Perera of Dombavalage, residing in Pulyara Junction, Henawatta area, has lost her life.
Anuradhapura headquarters police say that a bicycle and a lorry traveling in the same direction from Pulyar junction towards Matale junction collided with each other and the accident occurred when the bicycle was about to turn south.
The woman who was traveling on a bicycle in the accident was seriously injured and died on the spot and the lorry driver has been arrested.
