Ingiriya – It is reported that the Ingiriya Police have started investigations on the 9th after receiving a tip-off that there is a dead body of a person who had died suspiciously in a waterless well abandoned in a tea estate in Handapanagoda area.
The deceased was working as a watchman in a rubber factory in Meneriagama. It is stated that the concerned person has been missing since the last 7th and during the subsequent investigation, the dead body was found in the waterless well of the tea estate.
The deceased is a 69-year-old resident of Miriyagolla, Padukka area.
It has been revealed that the death was caused by an act like strangulation after the post-mortem examination was conducted.
No one has been arrested in connection with the incident so far and further investigations are being carried out by the Ingiriya Police.
