A traffic policy applicable to Sri Lanka has not been prepared so far, the traffic policy is prepared and the electric vehicle policy is expected to be prepared in it, and then it will be submitted to the Parliament and made into an Act in the future. It is reported that Mr. Gamini Ranasinghe, a member of the Development Advisory Committee, said.
He has further stated that the specifications and relevant criteria for assembly, production and import of electric vehicles will be decided after the formulation of the relevant policy.
He has also mentioned that a national policy regarding electric vehicles will be unveiled together with the Ministry of Industry.
