It is reported that a person has died after being hit by a train near Ragama railway station in Ragama police domain.
Police say that the death occurred after being hit by the express train which was running from Colombo Fort to Kandy yesterday (15th) morning.
It is said that the accident was caused by pushing a bicycle while crossing the railway crossing while the railway gate was closed.
The identity of the deceased has not been confirmed yet.
The deceased was between 35 and 40 years old and was wearing a light yellow shirt and shorts.
The body has been deposited in the Ragama hospital and the Ragama police are conducting further investigations
