It is reported that a group of officers from the Pritipura Police Life Saving Unit attached to the Wattala Police rescued a person who was swimming in the water at Pritipura beach yesterday afternoon (30) while he was caught in a wave and drowning.
It is said that this person along with three other friends went to Pritipura beach to swim while drunk and the other people were not harmed and all of them are working in a factory in the same area.
The person involved in the accident is a 21-year-old resident of Demodara area.
It is reported that this young man was rescued by police constables 60572 Gayan, 43536 Sudath, 90297 Janaka, 92776 Liyana Arachchi and 92792 Varnasuriya who are attached to the Wattala Police.
