It is reported that the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance gave a pledge to the Supreme Court that the sale of shares owned by the government of the Sri Lanka Telecom Company will not be completed until June 15 when a petition filed by two telecom union activists against the transfer of shares in the telecom company was called.
But it is stated that the Deputy Solicitor General who appeared for the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance informed the court that the transfer of these shares is completely legal.
This case has been ordered to be called for consideration again on June 15.
