It is reported that a Jaffna prison warden was arrested on suspicion this morning (16) after giving a cell phone to a prison inmate.
The police also said that during an investigation carried out by a team including the chief jailer regarding the finding of a cell phone in the possession of an inmate during a search conducted yesterday in the Jaffna prison, it has been revealed that the suspect prison warden had given the cell phone to the inmate.
It is said that this mobile phone was given to a prisoner who was imprisoned by the court for heroin trafficking and in that regard the prison officials checked the CCTV footage and it was observed that the suspect was giving the mobile phone to the prisoner.
