It is reported that the Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Mahinda Amaraweera, while speaking to the media after a discussion held yesterday (03) at the Gannoruwa Animal Production Department, said that three investors from India have submitted proposals to the government to produce milk, eggs and chicken meat in this country.
The minister who commented in this regard,
“We have been informed about several foreign investments for the egg and chicken industry. We are investigating their investments. If it is successful, we will allow them to do the work. Because we want to produce the things that the country needs in the country and give them to the people of this country. If the people of Sri Lanka do it. We like it more. If the people of Sri Lanka do not get involved, if a foreigner comes and invests, we will do it. It is better to make eggs and meat in Sri Lanka than to bring them from the country. India’s Amul company has also come forward in the dairy industry. The milk, meat and eggs we want are in our own country. We want to build. Our goal is to produce more and export.”
