It is reported that the primary section of Balapitiya Revatha National School has been closed today (28) and tomorrow (29) due to dog fleas.
In this regard, Mrs. Tamara Kumari, the principal of that school, has stated that there are dog fleas and sand fleas that are too small to be seen in the school grounds, and the public health inspectors have been informed about this, and the fleas have been controlled by using several related medicines. .
The principal has further mentioned that medicine is being applied as per medical advice and the school has been closed for two days for the safety of the children.
Balapitiya Administration Public Health Medical Officer Mr. Sanjeewa De Silva who commented in this regard,
“We have not given permission to close the school. There was a problem with dog fleas before. We took measures to control the fleas by using medicines. There is a dog that bit the puppies. We cannot control the fleas until those animals are chased away from the school. We can control the fleas. Did the thing.”
