It is reported that the police have received information regarding theft of purses by using pregnant women at the main bus station in Ambalangoda and places where the public hangs out a lot.
Police investigations have revealed that the concerned group is carrying out these thefts under the guise of selling identification sticks.
Also, during the inspection of a security camera at the bus station, a pregnant woman was recorded stealing another woman’s purse and the police further revealed that pregnant women are brought to the city by organized groups and used in this business.
The police are asking the people coming to Ambalangoda to be careful.
