It is reported that the police have planned to implement a special security program throughout the island for the upcoming festival season.
Police Media Spokesman Senior Superintendent of Police Advocate Mr. Nihal Talduwa stated that the Acting Inspector General of Police has already issued two special circulars for that purpose.
Lawyer Mr. Nihal Talduwa has mentioned that plainclothes police officers have also been deployed for security in places where the public hangs out more.
Meanwhile, it is planned to start a special bus and train service from tomorrow (22) for the upcoming festive season.
It is said that the special bus and train service has been operated for the people going to the villages during Christmas and school holidays.
Accordingly, the Sri Lanka Transport Board has emphasized that 100 additional buses will be deployed for long-distance services from tomorrow.
